Tour Plan

1

Day 1: Tbilisi.

Arrive in Tbilisi. Transfer from the airport. Free time for rest. Walking tour in Tbilisi. During the tour, you will visit Metekhi Church of the Blessed Virgin -  built in the fifth century and rebuilt in the 13th century. From there it is shown the panoramic views of the old town which tourists will explore during the next few hours. There is also a statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali - founder of Tbilisi. Visit Park Rike and take cable cars to Narikhala fortress. For a few minutes, you will be traveling by cabins and enjoying an unusual view of Old Tbilisi. From the upper ropeway station, you will overlook the old city and the botanical garden. Narikhala fortress – exists since the mid-4th century. The fortress is built on a hill, therefore there is a splendid view of the old city. The District of sulfur baths and Legvtahevi –   is located in the center of the city. According to the legend, the foundation of Tbilisi is connected to hot sulfur springs. There were also conducted archaeological excavations and were found ancient strata of the city. Through the area passes the rivulet of Legvtahevi. Its beautiful canyon was hidden for decades, and only now has been reconstructed - returned to its historic appearance. Meydan - the central square of the old town, which was formerly a commercial center of the city and nowadays is surrounded by cafe bars. Rustaveli Avenue and architecture from the 19th century. Day 2: Ananuri-Kazbegi

Departure to the monastery complex Ananuri and Zhinvali lake - located on the Georgian Military Highway, 70 km from Tbilisi. Visit Kazbegi region and Stephantsminda. Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia, charming guests with great opportunities for outdoor activities in the mountains, with amazing scenery and a friendly atmosphere. Optional: Visit Gergeti trinity church (XIV century) located at an altitude of 2170 at the foot of Mount Kazbek in the Georgian village Gergeti, directly above the village Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) – 10 EUR per person. Return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 3: Tbilisi-Sevan-Erevan

Depart to Erevan.On the way visit Lake Sevan. Visit Sevanavank, near Lake Sevan, and get acquainted with the architecture of the region. Sevanavank dates back to the 8th century. This monastery complex is located on a peninsula on the northwest shore of Lake Sevan. Arrive in Erevan. Accommodation at the hotel. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 4: Erevan – City tour

City tour in Yerevan. The tour starts by visiting the Museum of History, which is next to the city. The Museum of History for tourists will be a great start to exploring the city's history. It is also an ideal place for exploring both the new and the ancient Yerevan. Continuing the walking tour in Yerevan, you will learn about the city's history - impressive buildings in the Soviet-style, and narrow streets of the old center. Blue Mosque on Mashtotsskom Avenue, Republic  Square, Cascade and the statue of Mother Armenia, the Opera House, and the grandiose projects of independent Armenia - Northern Avenue and spacious Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator was consecrated by His Eminence Patriarch of All Armenians in the presence of His Holiness Pope John Paul II. Visit the brandy factory and have a brandy tasting. Visit Dalan art gallery - A colorful world of handmade art that symbolizes Armenia and Armenian culture. Amazing combinations of pictures, sculptures, and collages made of wood, clay, metal, and leather. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 5: Echmiadin-Tbilisi

 Visit the Cathedral of Echmiadzin - Founded in 301 by St. Gregory the Illuminator and rebuilt and added to for over 1,700 years, Echmiadzin now is the heart of the Armenian Church and the seat of the Catholics of all Armenians. The inside has interesting frescoes, an altar, lamps, and thrones. The intricate bell tower entrance is an addition from the 1800s. Drive back to Tbilisi. Return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 6: Tbilisi-Baku 500 km.

10:00 -  Depart to Mtskheta - founded in the first half of I millennium BC In the IV century BC since the formation of the East Georgian kingdom, the city ​​became the capital. Monuments of Mtskheta are included in the UNESCO World Heritage. The Monastery Djvari - VI century is on the hilltop, From there opens a beautiful view of the city and you can see the confluence of the Kura and Aragvi. 8 p.m. Depart to Baku. Overnight in Baku train.

Day 7: Baku

09:00 a.m. Arrive in Baku. Early check-in at the hotel. Free time for rest.  4 p.m. Start the tour at 11:00 and visit: Highland Park – Panoramic view of Baku Bay from the highest point of the city. National Flag Square – One of the highest flags in the world is the Azerbaijani flag fluttering in the square of the National Flag in Baku. The height of the constructed pillar is 162, the diameter of the foundations is 3,2, and the diameter of the top of the foundation is 1,09 meters. The total weight of the device is 220 tons. The width of the flag is 35 meters, the length is 70 meters, the total area is 2450 sq. meters, and the mass is approximately 350 kg. Seaside Park (Baku Boulevard) – “The Boulevard” is a promenade that runs parallel to Baku’s seafront. This area – popular for strolling and taking in views of the Caspian – was recently named a national park. Shirvanshahs` Palace – Palace of the Shirvanshahs is the biggest monument of the Shirvan-Absheron branch of Azerbaijan architecture, situated in the Inner City of Baku. The complex contains the main building of the palace, Divanhane, the burial vaults, the shah’s mosque with a minaret, Seyid Yahya Bakuvi’s mausoleum, a portal in the east – Murad’s gate, a reservoir, and the remnants of the bath-house. Maiden Tower – The Maiden Tower also known locally as Giz Galassi, located in the Old City, Baku, in Azerbaijan, was built in the 12th century as a part of the walled city. Together with the Shirvanshahs’ Palace, dated to the 15th century, it forms an ensemble of historic monuments inscribed in 2001 under the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments as cultural property, Category III. Juma Mosque, Double Gates, Bazar Square, Caravan Saray, Government House, Heydar Aliyev Center, State Philharmonic Hall, Mugam Center, Carpet Museum and etc. Overnight in Baku.

Day 8: Baku - Free day.

Optional: Visit Gobustan – 50 EUR per person. Museum of Petroglyphsis (outdoor museum) – Gobustan or by another name Museum of Petroglyphsis (outdoor museum) located approximately 65 km from Baku. Prehistoric rock drawings – Petroglyphs – are an art “archive” of the human evolution on Earth. The “articles” of such archives are the first transmissions from the human “I” to the outer world. There are a few such outdoor “archives” in Azerbaijan. One of them, the largest, is located in Gobustan, at the Baku State Reserve of History, Ethnography, and Arts, near Baku. It is a rocky massif on the bottom of the southeast part of the Great Caucasus Range, near the Caspian Sea, and a modern highway built on the an client Shirvan road. In the mountains of Gobustan Beyukdash, Kichikdash, Djingirdag, and Shighgaya there were concentrated witnesses of the past of the Azerbaijanian nation during the epoch of the Stone Age and ongoing periods – rocky paintings, camps of man, tombstones and etc. The most significant of them are rocky pictures – Petroglyphs, carved by primitive men on walls of caves, rocks, and stony lumps. The aforesaid primitive monuments of art reflect the culture, economy, world outlook, customs, and traditions of ancient Azerbaijanian peoples. Overnight in Baku.
