Tour Plan

1

Day 1: Tbilisi.

Arrive in Tbilisi. Transfer from the airport. Check-in at the hotel. Free time for rest. Walking tour in Tbilisi. During the tour, you will visit the Metekhi Church of the Blessed Virgin -  built in the fifth century and rebuilt in the 13th century.  From there it is shown the panoramic views of the old town which tourists will explore during the next few hours.  There is also a statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali - founder of Tbilisi. Visit Park Rike and take cable cars to Narikhala fortress. For a few minutes, you will be traveling by cabins and enjoying an unusual view of Old Tbilisi. From the upper ropeway station, you will overlook the old city and the botanical garden. Narikhala fortress – exists since the mid-4th century.  The fortress is built on a hill, therefore there is a splendid view of the old city. The District of sulfur baths and Legvtahevi –  is located in the center of the city. By the legend, the foundation of Tbilisi became from hot sulfur springs. There were also conducted archaeological excavations and were found ancient strata of the city. Through the area passes the rivulet of Legvtahevi. Its beautiful canyon was hidden for decades, and only now has been reconstructed - returned to its historic appearance. Meydan - the central square of the old town, which was formerly a commercial center of the city and nowadays is surrounded by cafe bars. Rustaveli Avenue and architecture from the 19th century. Duration 3-4 hours. Optional: Dinner at a traditional Georgian restaurant - 30 per person. We offer dinner at the Georgian restaurant with a folklore show in the evening. The repertoire of the show program: Includes Adjarian dance, “Mtiuluri”, “Rachuli” and Wedding Dance. Also, the program includes live music, Georgian pop songs, and songs in the voices. This is really a very exciting show! Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2: Kakheti – wine region. Gombori-Telavi-Gremi-Kvareli-Signagi-Bodbe

 Departure to Telavi through Gombori pass – It is a mountain chain in the Georgian part of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Located in the province of Kakheti in eastern Georgia it extends at a distance of 107 km. with the highest mountain (1.991m. above sea level). Tour in Telavi - city ​​of the XVIII century - the residence of the kings of Kakheti. Visit Gremi - This is the most famous place in the area of hole Kakheti. In a narrow sense, there is a castle and a temple. Both were built in 1563 by the king of Kakheti Levan. Visit winery Khareba in Kvareli - established upon the ancient traditions. The company works on the maintenance of the unique vine culture and winemaking both using ancient methods and modern technologies; consequently, the Company produces high-quality wines. In Kvareli wine is kept in a 7.7 km long tunnel cut off in the stone massif of the Caucasian mountain range. The massif includes granite surrounded by shale layers. At any time of the year, the temperature is 10C-11C. Wine is being aged there in oak barrels. Optional: Have wine-tasting with snacks and a master class on making Khachapuri – a Georgian traditional meal and Churchkhela – a traditional sweet - 15 per person. Wine tasting – 2 kinds of wine - 10 per person. 4 kinds of wine - 15 per person. Departure to Sighnaghi. City tour in Sighnaghi - “city of love”, as it’s one of the most popular places for couples, surrounded by defensive walls and towers.  From Sighnaghi there is a beautiful view of the Alazani valley, a boundless space stretching to the horizon. During the Sighnaghi tour, we also visit the Bodbe Monastery (built-in 9th century) of Saint Nino (the saint, who preached Christianity in Georgia), which is 2 km away from Sighnaghi. Here is the grave of Saint Nino and her holy spring – the sites visited by believers from all over the world. Return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 3: Mtskheta-Ananuri-Kazbegi

Depart to Mtskheta - founded in the first half of I millennium BC With the IV century BC since the formation of the East Georgian kingdom, the city ​​became the capital. Monuments of Mtskheta are included in UNESCO World Heritage. The monastery Djvari - VI century is on the hilltop, from there opens a beautiful view of the city and you can see the confluence of the Kura and Aragvi. Departure to the monastery complex Ananuri and Zhinvali lake - located on the Georgian Military Highway, 70 km from Tbilisi. Visit Kazbegi region and Stephantsminda. Day 4: Kazbegi-Uplitsikhe-Tbilisi

  Optional: Visit Gergeti trinity church (XIV century) located at an altitude of 2170 at the foot of Mount Kazbek along the Georgian Military Road in the Georgian village Gergeti, directly above the village Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). - €10 per person. Continue a trip to one of the most interesting and important monuments of the Kartli region - Upliscikhe - an ancient town carved in rock,  built in the 6th century BC. Here are the remains of an amphitheater, several temples, and a marketplace. The town has been abandoned since the 13th century. Drive back to  Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 5: Tbilisi-Sevan-Erevan

Depart to Erevan. On the way visit Lake Sevan. Visit Sevanavank, near Lake Sevan, and get acquainted with the architecture of the region. Sevanavank dates back to the 8th century. This monastery complex is located on a peninsula on the northwest shore of Lake Sevan. Arrive in Erevan. Accommodation at the hotel. Optional: Dinner at an Armenian traditional restaurant with folklore and native traditional meal. €30 per person. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 6: Erevan – City tour

City tour in Yerevan. The tour starts by visiting the Museum of History, which is next to the city. The Museum of History for tourists will be a great start to exploring the city's history. It is also an ideal place for exploring both the new and the ancient Yerevan. Continuing the walking tour in Yerevan and you will learn about the city's history - impressive buildings in the Soviet-style, narrow streets of the old center. Blue Mosque on Mashtotsskom Avenue, Republic Square, Cascade and the statue of Mother Armenia, the Opera House, and the grandiose projects of independent Armenia - Northern Avenue and spacious Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator was consecrated by His Eminence Patriarch of All Armenians in the presence of His Holiness Pope John Paul II. Cathedral of Echmiadzin - Founded in 301 by St. Gregory the Illuminator and rebuilt and added to for over 1,700 years, Echmiadzin now is the heart of the Armenian Church and the seat of the Catholics of all Armenians. The inside has interesting frescoes, an altar, lamps, and thrones. The intricate bell tower entrance is an addition from the 1800s. Visit the brandy factory and have a brandy tasting. Visit Dylan art gallery - A colorful world of handmade art that symbolizes Armenia and Armenian culture. Amazing combinations of pictures, sculptures, and collages made of wood, clay, metal, and leather. “The New York Times” in an article about Armenia represents the “Dalan” art gallery which attracted their attention with its unique works. You can always find completely different exhibitions here as the works are being changed over time. Except for the gallery here, you can also find a restaurant, an open-air café, a Silver shop, and a tea house. There is no entrance fee for art lovers. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 7: Gerhard-Garni

 Visit Geghard  - a medieval monastery in the Kotayk province of Armenia, partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.   On the way to Geghard, we will stop at the "Arki Charentsa" a splendid view of the Biblical Ararat valley. Continue the trip to the cave monastery of Geghard (5-13v), the tomb of Prince Proshyan. The tour continues to the pagan temple of Garni (1 century BC), visits the "Temple of the Sun" and the ancient imperial baths. Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 8: Erevan – Vardzia

Return to Georgia via the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. Visit Vardzia – a unique Cave town in 13th c. The frescoes of 12th c.; The caves stretch along the cliff for some five hundred meters. Here you will find one of the images of Queen Tamara – the first woman who ascended to the throne in feudal Georgia. Overnight in Vardzia.

Day 9: Vardzia-Borjomi-Tbilisi

 Visit Khertvisi fortress – one of the oldest fortresses in Georgia which was functional throughout the Georgian feudal period. The fortress was first built in the 2nd century BC. The church was built in 985, and the present walls in 1354. As the legend says, Khertvisi was destroyed by Alexander the Great. Visit Borjomi central park and taste mineral water coming from underground. Have a walk in Borjomi Park. Return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 10: Tbilisi

Free time in Tbilisi to visit Museums, Galleries, Sulphur baths, Agro-markets, Souvenir shops and etc. Transfer to the airport.
